FAMOUS: David Ezra headlines ‘The Castle of Magical Dreams’ in Hong Kong Disneyland

David Ezra

Award-winning theater actor, singer, and musician David Ezra, along with Giob Rodriguez and five other Filipino performers, have been chosen out of the thousands of hopefuls to be part of the cast of Hong Kong Disneyland’s newest attraction called "The Castle of Magical Dreams."

It’s a dream come true for David to perform on the international stage and be a part of a Disney production!

David is the son of Asia’s Diva Dulce and he has successfully followed his mother’s footsteps in becoming a professional artist as he earned the respect of the theater industry.

Growing up, David learned how to play the drums, the guitar, and the piano and he honed his singing when he majored in Music Education at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila where he starred in a string of college musicals productions.

It was during his college years that he became part of the pop-tenor vocal group The Filipino Tenors which eventually evolved into The FORTEnors.

David ventured into professional theater as part of the ensemble for a few musicals for Repertory Philippines before taking a few years off to focus on his singing career, performing with his mom while bagging the ALIW for Best New Artist in 2015.

His big theater comeback was in 2016 when he portrayed the role of President Emilio Aguinaldo in Tanghalang Pilipino’s Mabining Mandirigma, followed by a performance in Ibalong as Handyong that same year.

He then went on to play the starring role of Aurelio Tolentino in the Rock Sarswela Aurelio Serdisyoso in 2017 where he won the ALIW Best Actor In A Musical award. He was also given the plum role of Ahtiong in Binondo: A Tsinoy Musical where he won his second ALIW for Best Actor In A Musical in 2018.

Fellow Aliw awardee Carla Guevara-Laforteza, a fierce and well-known veteran in the theater industry, was asked by Dulce if she could manage David. Carla took on the challenge and promised Dulce that she will take utmost care of David’s career.

With Carla’s firm supervision, David has become one of the theater industry’s most sought-after leading men while being a constant fixture in concerts and corporate events. He was handpicked to play Buddy in Atlantis’ production of Side Show; King Solomon in Songs of Solomon; Hector in Ang Huling El Bimbo; and he is also one of the main vocalists at The Grand Bar in Resorts World Manila.

Today, there is no stopping David as he gears-up for Hong Kong Disneyland to live his dream of becoming an international performing artist.

Congratulations to celebrity couple Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto who recently revealed the gender of their fifth child.

For Kristine, it is always a blessing to have another child.

“Always grateful for every blessing. For a healthy & normal baby boy. Hindi pa man nasasagot ang baby girl na dasal ni Dre, madami pa din nasagot si God sa mga dasal namin at kahit pa yung mga bagay na hindi namin ipinagdasal. He always has His reasons and His perfect time. Napakabuti mo, Lord."

Oyo, for his part, said regardless of gender, is more than grateful for their baby. "It’s a boy! Again! Hahahaha!!!" said Oyo.

In Dec. 2020, Kristine and Oyo celebrated 10 years as husband and wife.
