Police Lt. Col. Ferdinand de Asis, Calasiao chief of police, said the victim, a woman estimated to be around 25 to 50-years-old, was found by a goat herder submerged under the creek, covered with water lilies.

“Pauwi na po siya nang may maamoy siyang masangsang. Sinundan niya yung amoy hanggang sa matuklasan niya yung bangkay sa tubig na tinakpan ng mga water lily," said De Asis.

He believes the victim drifted and got entangled in the water lilies in the area as no suspicious individuals or activity were recorded in the area.

De Asis described the victim as around 5 feet tall, slender, and had shoulder-length hair.

Unfortunately, identifying marks such as scars, moles, or birthmarks were no longer visible as the body is under the state of decomposition, save for a necklace she wore.

Her lower garments are missing, hinting a possibility of the victim being raped before being killed.

Medico legal examiner found a wound in the back part of the head and strangulation marks which may have been the cause of her death.

De Asis ordered the police to review missing persons in Calasiao and in neighboring towns and cities to no avail.

The body was immediately buried after retrieval. However, De Asis said it may be exhumed for further identification.
