PVAO limits face-to-face transactions amid surge of COVID-19 cases

The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) has decided to limit face-to-face transactions with Filipino war veterans or claimants amid the surge of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

In a statement, the PVAO said face-to-face transactions will now only be limited to what it described as 'extremely necessary' situations.

“Due to the current surge of COVID-19 cases, face to face transactions with veterans/claimants shall be limited to those extremely necessary to allow the unhampered servicing and continuity of pension/welfare benefits,” the agency said in an advisory.

The PVAO encouraged Filipino war veterans or pensioners to avail the online services of the agency in filing of benefits claims and validating pensioners’ status.

“AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) retirees with current validation status with the AFP Pension Gratuity and Management Center (AFP PGMC) do not have to undergo validation process at PVAO; provided, that a copy of the validation form submitted and received by the AFP PGMC shall be furnished PVAO thru email or any virtual/digital means,” the PVAO said.
