Misamis Oriental Coast Guard station activated to improve disaster response


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has activated its station in Northeastern Misamis Oriental in a move to further improve its rescue operations during calamities.

In a statement, the PCG said the establishment of the newly-activated unit will set an “effective command and control, strengthen visibility, and improve response during calamities.”

During the ceremony held in Barangay Poblacion, Talisayan, Misamis Oriental on Tuesday, March 23, Lieutenant Commander Patrick John Cabasag has been designated as the station commander of the newly-activated PCG unit in the province.

Meanwhile, Captain Anuar Inidal has been designated as the station commander of the Coast Guard station Western Misamis Oriental, formerly known as the Coast Guard station Misamis Oriental.

Also present during the ceremony were Commodore Agapito Bibat, Congressman Christian Unabia of the First District of Misamis Oriental, and Talisayan Mayor Rommel Maslog.
