The province of Batangas will be the focal point of the latest webinar series conducted by the Liveable Cities Labs. Considered the first-ever Local Lab, the webinar aims to give provinces a platform for sharing good practices, innovation, appropriate technology, urban planning and LGU management.
The webinar series is presented by Liveable Cities Challenge (LCC) Philippines and the League of Cities of the Philippines in partnership with Globe.
Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas will keynote and present the plans and accomplishments of Batangas province as it responds to the challenges of COVID-19 and the looming threat of another explosion of Mt. Taal. Mandanas is also expected to give an update on efforts to put up a centralized network for the province with improved health information management systems; document automation systems; and a provincial ID system.
After Mandanas’ presentation, he will be joined by Mayor Beverly Rose Dimacuha of Batangas City, Mayor Eric Africa of Lipa City and Saturnino Belen of the Metro Batangas Business Club for a more detailed discussion of how the cities and the local business sector helped the provincial government rise up to the challenges it faced for the past year.
Joining them is Ayala Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Peter Maquera, Senior Vice President for Enterprise Group at Globe Telecom Inc.
Zobel will give the opening remarks and share his views on the key role Batangas plays in national development. Maquera, on the other hand, will talk on the need for more collaboration and partnership from the private sector with Batangas.
The first Liveable Local Lab (Batangas Province) will be on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Reserve a seat in the Zoom room by signing up at http://bit.ly/locallabbatangas
