Nexplay Esports proved that it is the strongest League of Legends: Wild Rift team in the Philippines right now by dominating the Southeast Asia Icon Series 2021: Preseason over the weekend.

NXP punctuated its near perfect run in Riot Games' preseason tourney with a resounding 4-0 sweep of Sunsparks in the grand finals last Sunday night, March 21.

The Wild Rift division of the esports organization headed by founder and CEO Gabriel Benito bagged the champion's prize of $2,500 (over P120,000).

Jungler Juschie "Juschie" Tan on his Camille powered NXP's 23-8 victory in Game 1 then mid laner Aaron "Chuley" Bingay on his Ziggs ignited the 30-5 romp in Game 2.

Baron laner Miguel Vincent "Arisen" Pison's Akali shone in the 17-7 triumph in Game 3 before Juschie's Gragas sparked the 20-5 win to close out Sunsparks in the championship match.

ADC Jovannie "Ooozee" Colong and support Jazzfer "Dizastr" Villahermosa also played brilliant in the title series. Completing the team is sixth man Ralph "zMitch" Alvarez.

NXP only dropped a single game en route to capturing the crown in the eight-team tournament.

The boys in black started their campaign with a 3-0 rout of Liyab Esports before thrashing Team Secret, 3-1, in the semifinals.

Sunsparks, which trounced Bren Esports (3-0) and Rex Regum Qeon PH (3-1), snagged $1,250 (over P60,000) for finishing runner-up.

Secret smothered RRQ, 3-0, in the battle for third place. Secret took $750 (over P36,000) while RRQ got $500 (over P24,000).
