Trending Korean actor and “good boy” Kim Seon-ho thrilled Pinoys as he held his exclusive E-Fan Meeting on March 21 via the Globe Kmmunity PH page on Facebook.
“Mabuhay. Filipino fans, ako si Kim Seon-ho,” the 34-year old actor greeted fans.
Kim Seon-ho is the newest addition to Globe’s ambassadors and he is delighted, saying, “It’s an honor for me. Globe will release Kim Seon-ho’s advertisements soon.
Kim Seon-ho’s popularity shot up when he starred in the K-drama “Start-Up” as Han Ji-pyeong together with Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk last October.
His Instagram followers dramatically increased by almost two million from more than one million in November to three million in December. He reached the 4-million mark on Dec. 26 and garnered five million followers by March 16.
At Globe’s E-Fan Meeting, Kim Seon-ho played games with fans, learned Filipino words and showed a lot of “aegyo” (cuteness).
During the Q&A segment, fans asked him questions.
When asked if he woke up tomorrow in a different place or vacation spot, where it would be, Kim Seon-ho answered, “I once visited Cebu. I visited a resort after a shooting. I want to go back to Cebu.”
He was also asked what are the similarities and differences between Kim Seon-ho and his character Han Ji-pyeong.
“The similarities between me and Ji-pyeong are the personality, wit and smile. There were reasons why the (drama) director cast me. The reason was that this non-fictional and very much natural personality that I had like when I met the grandmother. All those positive effects are the similar sides of me and Ji-pyeong. The difference is the financial status. In the drama, Ji-pyeong is very rich.”
A fan also asked what are the first things that he does in the morning after waking up and he said, “These days, I usually start my day with breakfast with my family. It’s not been long since I started living with my parents. When I lived alone, I used to skip breakfast.”
Kim Seon-ho was also asked to rank acting, singing and dancing and replied, “Since I’m an actor, acting is No. 1. I am not competent when it comes to singing and dancing but if I have to rank it, the second is singing and then dancing.”
On the question “What do you want fans to think of when they think of you?,” he said, “I want everyone to think of Kim Seon-ho as an actor who will give back all the support that I got from the fans. Because I am an actor, all the love should be given back to the fans.”
Fans also voted on the things they wanted Kim Seon-ho to do during the e-fan meeting.
The top two were Kim Seon-ho singing a line from his favorite song and playing “sipa,” a traditional Pinoy game.
Kim Seon-ho surprised fans by singing “Don’t Worry Dear” by Lee Juck, a song included in the original soundtrack (OST) for the hit Korean drama “Reply 1988,” which aired from November 2015 to January 2016. He said he was very nervous while singing it.
He also had photo time with Pinoy fans. In return, fans surprised Kim Seon-ho with a video showing their love and support for him.
He said that as an actor, it’s very meaningful “that there is someone who supports him.”
“I did not start my acting career just to get the support. In all the good and bad times, you guys were there, supporting and giving me love. I feel that I really have to give the love back. Although we are having this virtually, if the situation gets better, I hope to visit and meet you guys personally. I would like to give all the love that I received back to you guys,” Kim Seon-ho told fans.
He added, “I truly am here because you guys are there (for me). I’m truly feeling the gratitude and the thankfulness that I have received. All the love and support that you guys are providing me anytime, anywhere.”
When asked about the fan meeting, he said, “I enjoyed it very much and the preparation was all good. I was able to communicate with Filipino fans.”
On future plans, Kim Seon-ho said, “I am very pleased that I am the newest member of Globe. I am preparing for some new projects.”
“Thank you everybody in the Philippines who participated with me. Salamat po. Mahal ko kayo,” he said.
