Joggers, bikers, and those who love to exercise or do other recreational activities are known to flock the area of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City, prompting the police to monitor the area for quarantine violators.
“Strict lang parang QUARANTINE PROTOCOL.. itinaboy yong mga hinde nag OOBSERVE ng PHYSICAL DISTANCING sa sobrang dami nila (We are strictly implementing quarantine protocols and are sending home those who do not observe physical distancing),” Pasay City Police Chief Cesar Paday-os said in a text message Sunday.
“Yong mga may dalang MINORS pinauwi. YONG IBA TINEKITAN (Those who have minors with them were sent home. Others were issued citation tickets),” he added.
Coronvirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to spike in Pasay City which has been tagged as a high-risk area.
Beds intended for COVID-19 patients at the Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH) are fully occupied. Currently, the hospital has 32 COVID-19 patients.
PCGH Officer-In-Charge Dr. John Victor De Gracia said that they are still not accepting more COVID-19 patients and those who would go to PCGH will be referred to the Philippine General Hospital or the One Hospital Command Center which can locate other hospitals that can accommodate them.
As of Saturday, March 20, the city logged a total of 856 cases with 126 new cases.
