Caritas Manila head tests positive for COVID-19

Caritas Manila in Pandacan is currently on lockdown after its executive director and a number of their staff tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Radio Veritas said Caritas Manila will be on lockdown from March 20 to 28, 2021.

The area will also be disinfected for two days.

The church-run radio said Father Anton Pascual, also their president, is currently admitted at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City.

The other staff of Caritas Manila who tested positive for COVID are also in quarantine.

Caritas Manila and Radio Veritas asked for prayers for the recovery of Pascual and those with COVID.

Caritas Manila, the social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, has been at the frontline in providing aid to millions of poor families in Metro Manila and nearby provinces affected by the pandemic.

The Catholic agency has distributed COVID-19 kits and P1.5 billion worth of “gift certificates” to over four million households within the greater Manila area.
