In our exclusive virtual interview with Man of the Globe Philippines founder and owner Santi Guarin, he revealed that the pageant landscape in the Philippines has changed dramatically amid pandemic times. He gave details on the major changes that happened in mounting the latest edition of Man of The Globe and adapting to the new normal.

“2020 may have thrown many of our plans, but a New Year calls for renewed resolutions and fresh hopes for seeing the world once more. Our organization has served as a platform, exhibition and development for dozens of young people from different countries to be able to exhibit themselves internationally through the representation of their countries. On its 2nd edition due to the new normal, the pageant will take place in a virtual platform where 38 aspiring candidates from all over the Philippines passed the online screening by sending their photos and videos to our official Facebook account and email during the virtual selection. Only the Top 12 semi-finalists made it to the virtual preliminary competition. The candidates are from Agusan Del Sur, Bacarra Ilocos Norte, Bohol, Davao De Oro, Lanao Del Norte, Laoag , Municipality of Minalin, Pampanga; La Union, Pangasinan, Jasaan Misamis Oriental, San Antonio Nueva Ecija and Cabanatuan City," Santi said.

Last Feb. 27, the virtual preliminary competition was held. The judges were: international supermodel Chulpadmendra Kumapathirana, Mister Teen Globe International First Runner-Up 2019 David Chong, Man of The Globe International First Runner Up 2019 Alexander Fujita, International Model from Thailand Sonkim Sonkim and Fashion Designer John Ablaza.

All 12 candidates sent their pre-recorded video and photoshoots (3 segment categories composed of modern Barong Tagalog, swimwear, and formal wear) and a 60-second free speech selfie video about the topic “Man With The Right Attitude."

From 12 official candidates, only the final top 5 candidates from Agusan Del Sur, Davao De Oro, Bohol, Municipality of San Antonio Nueva Ecija and Municipality of Minalin Pampanga joined the intimate proclamation and sashing of the winners in Balibago, Angeles City last March 5.
