DepEd TV featured its accomplishments and awards during the virtual In-Service Training (INSET) week from March 15 to 19.

Information and Communications Technology Service (ICTS) Director Abram Abanil explained that DepEd is still “ramping up the production of episodes” to cover all of the learning competencies in each school subject on the basic education curriculum.

“One of the major programs that we have been developing is the DepEd TV where we have been producing around 130 episodes per week,” Abanil said. These episodes, he added, are aired on television to ensure learning continuity of students “even if they don’t have face-to-face classes.”

While SY 2020-2021 remains challenging, the DepEd TV team also reported various milestones including the turnover of approved broadcaster training program and design that are available upon request by Schools Division Office (SDO) that intend to have their localized DepEd TV program.

Another milestone for DepEd TV is training of 200 Teacher-Broadcasters and production of 640 fully edited, mastered, and formatted broadcast-ready TV lessons.

Moreover, DepEd TV was also able to turned over of 25 audio video lessons by broadcast veterans and complete operations manual for broadcast TV.

These efforts, DepEd said, were recently recognized by the Mobiles of Education (mEducation) Alliance as the department was cited as one of the Policymaker EdTech Champions and the DepEd TV as one of the honorable mentions under the Crisis and Conflict Response category.

The DepEd TV has been airing to 15 TV, radio, and cable operators throughout the country. It is also available on DepEd TV and DepEd Philippines Facebook pages and DepEd TV – Official

Meanwhile, DepEd TV Project Head Salvador Manansala reported the Department’s future plans - through the effort of Office of Undersecretary for Administration headed by Undersecretary Alain Del Pascua - to continue promoting the official learning platforms for blended learning to various SDOs from March to June 2021.

These platforms include DepEd TV, ETulay, DepEd Commons, DepEd TV YouTube Channel, DepEd Philippines, and DepEd Tayo.
