Alex Eala gears up for the prestigious Miami Open scheduled next week when she arrives in Florida Wednesday, March 17.

The 15-year-old junior tennis sensation updated her fans on social media by posting a picture of her behind a tournament signboard.

“Greetings from Miami!” Eala wrote, beaming in front of the camera in her training gear.

Eala earned a wildcard berth in the qualifying round of the elite tournament – her biggest competition so far after competing in $15,000 and $25,000 International Tennis Federation events.

The tournament will be held at the Hard Rock Stadium, the home of the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

The Miami Open is categorized in the Women’s Tennis Association as WTA1000 and is a Premier Mandatory event in the WTA Tour.

The event was cancelled in 2019 due to the pandemic.

Serena Williams won eight titles in the tournament, including her last in 2015, while other previous champions were Ashleigh Barty (2019), Sloane Stephens (2018), Johanna Konta (2017), and Victoria Azarenka (2011, 2016).
