After recovering from coronavirus disease (COVID-19), San Juan City Mayor Francisco Zamora said on Wednesday (March 17) that he is now starting to hold meetings at open-air venues as an additional precaution against the virus.
"Ever since the pandemic started in March 2020, I always wear a mask and observe social distancing and yet I still got infected with COVID-19. An aspect that I will now put more importance on is proper ventilation and air circulation - enclosed areas increase the possibility of COVID-19 transmission according to my infectious disease doctor," Zamora said in an interview with Manila Bulletin.
"Staying safe is not just about wearing a mask and face shield and social distancing, it's also about proper ventilation and air circulation which can help prevent COVID-19 transmission." he added.
Zamora tested positive from COVID-19 last March 1 where he went into self-quarantine at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC).
He reported back to office on March 15 after being discharged from the hospital and completing his 14-day quarantine.
