DepEd: Pay-out for PBB 2019 depends on 'completeness' of validated reports from schools, field offices

The pay-out of the highly-anticipated 2019 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) will depend on the completion of requirements coming from the local level, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.

DepEd, on March 16, formally announced that the teaching and majority of the non-teaching personnel of the agency are set to receive their 2019 PBB after it has been declared “eligible” for the annual incentive.

After the confirmation of eligibility of DepEd by the AO25 Task Force, DepEd said that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will “facilitate the releases of the bonuses.”

“PBB is not budgeted in DepEd because you can only get the PBB when the AO25 Task Force has evaluated the agency eligible for the PBB,” DepEd Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla said.

DepEd noted that the school-based personnel “will be the first ones to receive their bonuses.” This will be followed by the Schools Division Office (SDO)-based personnel who are assigned in the schools.

Those that are in the SDOs, Regional Offices (ROs) come next. The last ones to receive the 2019 PBB will be those personnel at the Central Office (CO).

DepEd explained that the DBM will “download the funds” to its Regional Offices (ROs). Then, the funds will be directly released to DepEd ROs and SDOs and to the respective personnel eligible for the grant of PBB.

However, DepEd clarified that the pay-out for PBB 2019 will “depend on the submission of validated reports from schools and field offices.”

DepEd noted that the processing time of which by AO25TF depends on the completeness of documents submitted during the validation period (ranking, eligibility and isolation list) and downloading of funds from DBM to the ROs, ROs to SDOs and SDOs to personnel.

While waiting for the 2019 PBB, Sevilla urged DepEd personnel to “continue providing quality service” to the people and to “remain committed, dedicated, and devoted” to supporting the programs of the department for the learners and the education sector.
