The Civil Service Commission (CSC) Central Office in Batasan Hills, Quezon City and its regional offices have recorded a total of 69 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), 61 of whom have already recovered.
Based on the latest data on COVID-19 cases among the CSC employees nationwide , the commission logged seven active cases and one death.
There were 30 personnel in the Central Office who contracted the disease, it said. Of the number, 23 have recovered, while seven were logged as active cases.
It was CSC Commissioner Aileen Lourdes Lizada who gave the data to the Manila Bulletin.
“We are getting the information nationwide,” Lizada said.
All the 10 employees in the CSC National Capital Region (NCR) and CSC Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) who caught the disease already recovered, according to the CSC data.
The CSC Central Office decided to close down from March 15 to 19 after logging five new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
It said the closure was part of part of precautionary measures as the CSC Central Office has to undertake disinfection measures and conduct contract tracing.
"The closure is also intended to allow officials and employees to observe the required period of self-isolation pending results of the COVID-19 testing conducted last week,” read the the advisory signed by CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala on March 14.
The CSC advised its clients not to visit the Central Office from March 15 to 19 and continuously avail the services of its Integrated Records Management Office (IRMO), Office for Legal Affairs (OLA), Civil Service Institute (CSI), and Human Resource Relations Office (HRRO) through online.
