In its afternoon weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was spotted at 35 kilometers west of Cuyo, Palawan at 3 p.m.

“Possibly within the next 24 to 48 hours, posibleng either mag-dissipate na itong low pressure area o patuloy na kumilos pa kanluran at palabas ng ating area of responsibility (Possibly within the next 24 to 48 hours, it is possible that this low pressure area will either dissipate or continue to move west and out of our area of responsibility),” senior weather specialist Cris Perez said.

Perez said the LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Aklan, and Mimaropa region until Monday, March 15.

On the other hand, he said the eastern section of Southern Luzon will be affected by tail-end of the frontal system, which would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Quezon, and Northern Samar.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to affect weather conditions over Northern Luzon and eastern section of Central Luzon.

Cloudy skies with light rains due to amihan may be experienced in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, rest of Calabarzon, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan.

The amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Ilocos Region and rest of Central Luzon.

PAGASA said Mindanao and the rest of Visayas may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
