Las Pinas LGU to decide Monday on new curfew hours


Las Pinas Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the city government will still convene to decide whether it will also implement the same curfew hours agreed by the Metro Manila Council (MMC).

The city has started the implementation of the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m curfew hour on March 12 which was passed and immediately approved by the City Council.

Aguilar said the City Council approved the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. so those leaving who will their houses early to go to work will no longer experience any problems of being checked by patrolling policemen.

She said the city government will determine on Monday, March 15 if there is a need to follow the unified curfew hour from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. resolution of the MMC from March 15 to March 31.

The mayor said that immediately after the local police, under Col. Rodel Pastor, was issued with the copy of the city ordinance, the team of social distancing patrollers, armed with megaphone and yantok, will inform the city residents on the new curfew hour.

Aguilar said the police were also advised to conduct a 24-hour patrol around the city and apprehend those who will violate the curfew hour and the liquor ban.

She said the police and the team from the Business Permit and Licensing Office were also deployed to remind business establishments that the serving of liquor should be up to 10 p.m. only and drinking along the street is prohibited.
