Dacera camp ‘happy, vindicated’ with medical reports supporting rape claim

The camp of deceased flight attendant Christine Dacera on Friday (March 5) welcomed the medical reports submitted by the police before the Makati Prosecutor’s Office supporting their claim that she was drugged and raped.

“We are happy with the results, we were vindicated. It proves that Galido and Dela Serna who recanted their earlier statement that there were illegal drugs in their room were lying,” lawyer Roger “Brick” Reyes, spokesperson of the Dacera camp, told the Manila Bulletin.

On January 13, John Pascual “JP” de la Serna III and Rommel Galido recanted their statements that illegal drugs were used during their party at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati City. Their lawyer, Abigail Portugal, said Galido and Dela Serna were pressured by policemen to state in their affidavits that there were drugs in the party.

“We strongly believe that Christine was drugged that’s why she became erratic that night,” he added.

However, he said that their camp was not informed by the Makati Police about the development.

“The Makati Police did not inform us about this. Nauna pang nakaalam ang kabilang kampo kaysa sa amin (The police informed the other camp first),” said Reyes.

On March 1, the police filed a motion asking the Makati Prosecutor’s Office to reopen the case and admit additional evidence that would prove that Dacera was raped and drugged before she was found dead.

In its motion, the Makati police attached a toxicology report and semen analysis on specimens they found at the crime scene. The analysis of the PNP-Crime Laboratory Office showed the presence of semen on three beddings from the hotel rooms—2207 and 2209.

Meanwhile, the toxicology analysis on two cotton swabs from Room 2209, yielded positive for 4-fluoromethamphetamine or 4-FMA and methamphetamine, which are prohibited substances.
