UST psychology alumna Bea Trinidad Aquino was able to raise over P74,000 to assist UST College of Science janitor Alvin Negrido Marbida with his medical expenses after he got attacked by a dog.

According to a report by Varsitarian, the official student publication of UST, Marbida was chaining his dog when it suddenly jumped on him and bit his hands on Feb. 24.

Mardiba, who has been working in the UST for five years now, is discharged from the hospital but is still under observation and temporarily unable to work.

"Nabayaran na din po yung bills niya and he is now at home recovering. However, di niya po magalaw kamay niya kasi baka may nerve daw po na natamaan (His hospital bills have also been paid and he is now at home recovering. However, he couldn't move his hand because there's a possibility a nerve has been damaged)," Aquino shared.

"Thank you to the UST Science Community for the swift response and for donating and sharing this post. From the Admin, Faculty, Alumni and students alike thank you so much for helping Kuya Alvin!" she wrote on Facebook.
