Cavite LGU coordinating with AstraZeneca to procure vaccines for 1.5 million residents


CAVITE - The provincial government of Cavite is coordinating with British-Swedish biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca to procure vaccines worth P750 million to protect 1.5 million of its residents from coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post on Monday (March 1), Governor Jonvic C. Remulla said the AstraZeneca vaccines will be provided for Caviteños aged 18 to 59.

The local government unit is also coordinating with Moderna and Pfizer to provide vaccines for senior citizens in the province.

Remulla said the province is currently recording a daily average of 20 COVID-19 cases, much lower than the 800 daily average recorded during the peak months of 2020.
