PH COVID-19 recoveries climb by 9,418 to 534,271


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Sunday, Feb. 28, 9,418 new recovered cases, raising the overall tally of coronavirus disease (COVID) survivors nationwide to 534,271.

The DOH said that the recovery tally is 92.7 percent of the total confirmed coronavirus infections in the country. The nationwide count was 576,352. 

As of 4 p.m. on Sunday, there were 2,113 new COVID-19 cases detected. This brought the number of active cases nationwide to 29,763. 

Of the active cases, 88.7 percent were mild, 5.3 percent were asymptomatic, 2.6 percent were critical, 2.5 percent were in severe condition, and 0.93 percent are in moderate condition, the DOH said.  

Meanwhile, 29 new deaths were reported, pushing the death toll to 12,318. 

“Ang pagsuot ng face masks at face shields, physical distancing na hindi bababa sa isang metro, paghugas o pag-sanitize ng mga kamay matapos humawak sa mga bagay, ay tiyak na depensa laban sa pagkalat ng anumang uri ng variant ng COVID-19 (Wearing face masks and face shields, physical distancing of at least one meter, washing or sanitizing the hands after handling objects, are one’s defense to avoid the spread of any type of COVID-19 variant),” reminded the DOH.
