Red Velvet Irene’s debut film ‘Double Patty’ earns nearly $97,000 in 8 days

K-pop girl group Red Velvet leader Irene’s debut film “Double Patty” has earned nearly $97,000 at the Korean box office in eight days.

According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), “Double Patty” sold 12,356 tickets and grossed $96,664 from its opening day on Feb. 17 to Feb. 24.

Including the pre-opening screening ticket sales of 364 with a revenue of $2,954, “Double Patty” has earned $99,618 with total admissions of 12,720.

In the movie, Irene (Bae Joo-hyun) plays the role of Hyun-ji who wants to be a newscaster. Her co-star is actor Shing Seung-ho.

“Double Patty” opened on Feb. 17, selling 4,644 tickets (adjusted by KOFIC) and earning $34,632 from 265 screens to place fourth in the daily box office.

In the weekend box office tally from Feb. 19 to 21, “Double Patty” sold 4,450 tickets and earned $37,228 to grab eight place.
