Eddie Cervales, 35, was nabbed by the Pateros Police on Feb. 23 after he posted on his Facebook story a photo of him holding a “grenade” with a threat that he would throw the explosive if he got irked.

Upon receiving reports about the post, elements of the Pateros Police Station's Intelligence bureau were immediately dispatched to check the veracity of the post.

According to the police report, the arresting officer chanced upon Cervales holding the grenade which led to his immediate arrest.

In an interview with GMA News, Cervales said he posted the threat because he was jealous that his partner was chatting with another man.

“Away mag jowa lang ganon, selos lang, wala lang, naisipan ko lang picturan tapos i-My Day (It was just because of a lover’s quarrel, I got jealous, and I thought of posing with a grenade and post it on My Day),” he said.

Cervales also admitted that he was drunk when he posted the bomb threat.

Pateros police chief Col. Ramchrisen Haveria told GMA News that the grenade confiscated from Cervales was a vintage MK2.

Cervales is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9516.
