BIÑAN CITY, Laguna – Two motorcycle-riding men were killed in an alleged shootout with policemen conducting “Oplan: Sita” on Langkiwa-Timbao Road in this city Thursday.
Police said the suspects, whose identities have yet to be established, died from bullet wounds while being rushed to the Ospital ng Biñan.
Investigators said joint teams of the Highway Patrol Group and the Special Weapons and Tactics of Binan Police Station conducted an operation at 3:25 a.m. against motorcycle-riding criminals.
They later spotted and flagged down a motorcycle with three men on board, but instead heeding the cops’ signal, the two backriders jumped off the bike and fired shots at the lawmen.
The lawmen retaliated, killing the two suspects while their companion managed to flee on board the motorcycle.
