An elderly man was spotted riding an electric wheelchair down a highway in Hong Kong on Monday, February 22.
In the video posted on Facebook, a grey-haired man can be seen driving behind a taxi in the outer lane of the road, forcing other drivers behind him to slow down to avoid hitting him.
According to a report by the South China Morning Post, authorities were called when the man was seen riding a wheelchair in the middle lane of three-lane Ching Cheung Road in the direction of Tsuen Wan at around 11 a.m.
The officers said the man was first seen at the junction of Nam Cheong Street and Lung Cheung Road in Sham Shui Po.
Motorists reported to the police that the man was in the Tsuen Wan-bound lane of Ching Cheung Road near Caritas Medical Centre in Cheung Sha Wan. The two sites are about 1.5km apart.
As of 1.30 p.m., officers were still hunting for the man.
At around 6.18 a.m., the police received a call that an 85-year old man was found riding his electric wheelchair in West Kowloon Highway in Yau Ma Tei.
It was still unknown if the same man was involved in both incidents
