One new Filipino fatality due to COVID-19 was reported from the Middle East and Africa.

Since the start of the pandemic in February last year, the DFA has recorded a total of 14,871 confirmed cases among Filipinos abroad. Of which, 9,366 have recovered, 4,490 are undergoing treatment and 1,015 succumbed to the disease.

To date, the Middle East and Africa remain to be the combined regions with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, recoveries, under treatment, and fatalities among Filipino nationals.

The Americas, on the other hand, continue to record the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of deaths wherein Asia and the Pacific ranks lowest with a total of only 21.
