Sixteen Chinese nationals, including three females,
were held by Bureau of Immigration (BI) authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Wednesday, Feb. 17, because they gave inconsistent statements and could not describe the nature of their trip.
The group came on board a Pan Pacific Airlines flight from Zhengzhou, China, and alleged that they were sponsored by a tech company in the Philippines.
BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. however said that the group was unable to prove their relationship with the alleged company sponsor.
“Their purpose was very doubtful, and they gave conflicting and different statements, hence they were denied entry to the country," said Manahan.
The group is scheduled to fly back to China this Wednesday, February 24.
