Approaching ‘Auring’ cancels sea trips in Panay, Capiz

ILOILO CITY – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended sea trips here Sunday as storm signal No. 1 was raised in portions of northern Panay due to the approaching tropical storm “Auring” (international name “Dujuan”).

Commander Edison Diaz, Iloilo PCG chief, said in an advisory that fastcraft and roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) vessels transiting here and the port in Dumangas, Iloilo with routes to Bacolod City have been cancelled. Diaz added that vessels from this city to Cebu City and vice versa were also canceled.

Inter-island sea trips in northern Iloilo have also been cancelled after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration put Ajuy, Balasan, Barotac Viejo, Batad, Carles, Concepcion, Estancia, San Dionisio, San Rafael, and Sara, where many coastal barangays are located,  under storm signal No. 1.

In a separate travel advisory, the PCG Capiz also suspended sea trips.
