Through the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) National Committee on Music (NCMusic), in partnership with St. Paul University, the online concert dubbed "Musikapuluan Pintigan: Serye ng Konsiyerto para sa Buwan ng Sining" will showcase a variety of musical cultures in the Philippines from indigenous, to contemporary and progressive music.

"Inspired by the musical landscape of the Philippines as an archipelagic country, Musikapuluan Pintigan seeks to capture the different beats and musical cultures of the country," the NCCA said.

The concert will premier on February 21 and will run for four consecutive Sundays until March 14. It will feature the eight musical annotated performances of the eight living cultures of the Philippines based on a study conducted by NCMusic head Felipe De Leon.

According to the commission, the music of eight living subcultures will be clustered into four online concerts. Two music subcultures will be featured each Sunday.

First to be highlighted will be the music of the indigenous and Muslim communities, as well as talks on subcultures "Kultura ng Pagdidiwata" (Harmony with the Deities, Creative Forces of Nature and Ancestral Spirits), and "Kultura ng Pag-uukir at Pag-uuma" (Poetic Mysticism and Devotion to Islam).

The "Kultura ng Pagdidiwata" will show the indigenous peoples' harmony with nature and the spiritual world done through music and chants, while "Kultura ng Pag-uuma at Pag-uukir" will highlight the culture of our Muslim communities and the Arabesque influence on their music.

On the second Sunday, February 28, music from the Poblacion and the lowland Christian communities will be featured along with subcultures "Kultura ng Pamamanata" (Devotion to the Patron Saint and Village Community), and "Kultura ng Pananahan" (Devotion to the Home and Family).

The "Kultura ng Pamamanata" will show our culture of devotion and sacrifice, usually highlighted through music inspired by religious practices and beliefs, while "Kultura ng Pananahan" will highlight Filipinos’ close family ties and our unparalleled devotion to home and family.

The third Sunday, March 7, will feature Filipino concert music and pop music which highlights "Kultura ng Paglilining at Pangangatwiran" (Culture of Reflection and Reasoning), and Kultura ng Pag-aaliw (Culture of Entertainment or Sensations).

On the final Sunday show, viewers will hear alternative and progressive music and discussion on subcultures "Kultura ng Pamumuna at Pagtutol" (Culture of Social Criticism, Concern, Protest), and "Kultura ng Pagka-Filipino at Pagkabansa" (Devotion to the Nation and Being Filipino).
