7 new COVID-19 cases, 7 recoveries recorded among overseas Filipinos -- DFA


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reported seven new COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and seven new recoveries among Filipinos abroad.

No new fatality among overseas Filipinos was reported for the past three consecutive days. 
 
This brings the total number of cases and recoveries to 14,679 and 9,238, respectively.
 
On the other hand, a total of 4,462 are still undergoing treatment or considered live cases while a total of 979 overseas Filipinos died since the start of the pandemic in February last year. 
 
The Middle East and Africa remain as the combined regions with the most numbers in all categories, namely undergoing treatment, 2,715; recoveries, 4,755; and deaths, 633.  
 
Together with its Foreign Service Posts, the DFA expressed its commitment to continue monitoring and assisting Filipinos abroad amid the pandemic.
