EXO’s D.O set to take on Jay Chou’s role in Korean remake of ‘Secret’

D.O

Barely a month after being discharged, EXO’s D.O or Do Kyungsoo already confirmed his second film project.

The EXO vocalist and 100 Days My Prince actor landed the lead role for the Korean adaptation of the Taiwanese film Secret.

The original 2008 film starred Chinese superstar Jay Chou and centered around a piano prodigy who transfers to a new school. The character meets a girl playing a haunting melody in a practice room.

Secret will be directed by April Snow director Seo Yoo Min and is expected to begin production in the second half of the year.

Secret will be D.O’s second film project for the year after he was confirmed to appear in the sci-fi film The Moon shortly after he was discharged from the military last January.

In The Moon, D.O will play the role of a man who gets stuck in space. The film will revolve around the heroic attempts to bring him back home to Earth safely.

D.O will be joined by veteran actors Sol Kyung Gu (Memoir of a Murder) and Kim Hee Ae (The World of the Married) in the cast. Both actors will play significant roles in the film. Sol Kyung Gu will portray the character of a man who desperately works to bring back D.O while Kim Hee Ae will play the role of the NASA director in charge of the rescue mission.

The film will be directed by Along with the Gods director Kim Yong Hwa.
