Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. on Tuesday (Feb. 16) said certain police officers at MPD use illegal drugs to gain more money.

He warned the cops that he was referring to either retire early or to go absent without leave (AWOL).

"Sana (I hope) that will serve as a warning to everyone. Hindi ako nagbibiro. Paulit-ulit kong sinasabi 'yan sainyo. Sabi ko nga, 'yung matigas ang ulo, lilitsunin ko kayo nang buhay (I am not joking. I have repeatedly told you this. I said those who will remain stubborn will be roasted alive)," he said in his speech during a visit to the MPD Headquarters.

"Magkakaklase kayo (You are classmates). And what is worse there is you are putting a disgrace to our uniform. Ang kapal ng mukha ninyo (How dare you)," he added.

MPD Director Leo Francisco has yet to reply to a request for comment.
