BIR tells taxpayers to use its online appointment system

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is asking taxpayers to avail themselves of its online appointment system which is more convenient in transacting business amid the Corona Virus-19 (COVID-19).

Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Information System Group Lanee Cui-David renewed the request as she signed a memorandum with Deputy Commissioner for Operations Arnel SD. Guballa to include four more revenue district  offices (RDOs) under the eAppointment System, bringing the total to 16.

The latest batch are RDOs San Nicolas-Tondo, Cainta-Taytay, Rizal, North and South Pampanga.

Ms. David said the electronic system aims to all cover the  120 RDOs nationwide ultimately.

Ms. David said  the eAppointment can be reached via BIR Website even without clicking www.bir.gov.ph.

"It is a web-based booking calendar that gives taxpayers  convenient time to make an appointment, or discuss virtually tax issues and problems," she added.

She said big taxpayers under the bureau's large taxpayers service are already enrolled in the system.

She said the eAppointment will eventually cover all tax transactions and become a permanent feature even if the pandemic is totally eradicated.
