BOC bloodletting becomes more meaningful amid COVID crisis

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) held last February 10 a bloodletting activity dubbed "Sa Aming Anibersaryo, Dugo ang alay namin sa inyo (We offer blood on our Anniversary)" on the occasion of the agency’s 119th founding anniversary.

The activity was spearheaded by the BoC Medical and Dental Division headed by Dr. Sigrid Duclan, in coordination with Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay Inc. & UERM Memorial Medical Center Inc.

Various BOC officials employees showed up to the activity to show that they were more than willing to donate blood to those in need.

The Medical and Dental Division also provided information to employees on how to avoid being infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). The division was recently recognized in their efforts against COVID-19 especially during the height of the lockdown last year.

As the nation continues its fight against COVID-19, the BOC said it recognizes the importance of having blood available to extend the lives of those affected by the deadly virus.

The Bureau supports efforts in combating the virus other than the facilitation of medical supplies and the securing the borders from fake and smuggled medical items.
