Dy ready to face lightweight contenders: Line them up and I will knock them down

Filipino fighter Rolando Dy is more than ready to take on fellow challengers in the lightweight division who wish to get a crack at the belt.

Dy, who inked a fresh three-year deal with BRAVE Combat Federation, has etched his name in the promotion's lightweight picture last year after back-to-back stellar performances.

Since a lackluster showing in the featherweight division in 2018, Dy redeemed himself in the lightweight rank after beating Maciej Gierszweski of Poland and John Brewin of New Zealand last year.

And the Cavite-based fighter, who earned BRAVE CF's 2020 Fighter of the Year honor, is raring to get back in the cage to continue his winning ways.

"If BRAVE CF thinks I have to prove it again, then so be it. I am a fighter, and my job is to fight and win fights. Like I said in the past, line them up and I will keep knocking them down. It’s that simple," said the 29-year-old Dy, who holds a 14-9 record.

"“I’m excited for 2021. I know this year has a lot in store for me and my team. I can’t wait to get back inside the cage."

While lightweight champion Amin Ayoub (15-4) of France patiently waits for the next challenger, the likes of Dy, Ahmed Amir of Egpyt (11-3-1), Abdisalam Kubanychbek of Kyrgyzstan (17-3), and Sam Patterson of England (6-1-1), all coming from impressive win streak, are all lined up in the division.

Ayoub, for his part, rides on a 6-0 win streak since 2018 including two straight wins in the promotion.

BRAVE CF is expected to announce its next live event in the coming weeks since holding its first event in Russia in January.
