VIRAL: Cute cat filter takes over Zoom virtual court hearing

What was supposed to be a serious virtual court hearing became a funny one for a few minutes. Judge Ferguson tweeted a warning on the use of Zoom filters when a lawyer accidentally logged into a virtual hearing with the cat filter on.

“If a child used your computer, before you join a virtual hearing check the Zoom Video Options to be sure filters are off," he tweeted. Video was courtesy of the 394th District Court of Texas.

The 42-second video showed two lawyers and an adorable blue-eyed white cat with the label Attorney Rod Ponton. One of the judges pointed out that Ponton was using a cat filter, "Mr. Ponton, I believe you have filter turned on in the video settings."

Ponton, obviously stressed, was trying to fix it. His assistant was there as well. “I’m here live, I’m not a cat." He continues to explain, “I logged into my secretary’s computer to appear at this hearing via Zoom, and when everybody’s ready the judge calls the case and everybody’s face is supposed to pop up on Zoom.

Ferguson, the man who shared the video, tweeted, “IMPORTANT ZOOM TIP: If a child used your computer, before you join a virtual hearing check the Zoom Video Options to be sure filters are off.”
