Korean actor Lee Byung-hun’s “The Man Standing Next” bagged best film at the 41st Blue Dragon Film Awards in South Korea.
The awards ceremony was held on Feb. 9 at Paradise City in Incheon and hosted by stars Kim Hye-soo and Yoo Yeon-seok.
“The Man Standing Next,” South Korea’s entry to the 93rd Academy Awards, edged out “Moonlit Winter,” “Voice of Silence,” “Moving On” and “Kim Ji-young: Born 1982” to win the best film award.
The best director award went to Lim Dae-hyung, who helmed “Moonlit Winter,” starring Kim Hee-ae of the hit drama “The World of the Married.”
Yoo Ah-in and Ra Mi-ran won the top acting prizes of the night. Yoo Ah-in took home the best actor award for “Voice of Silence” and Ra Mi-ran won best actress for her role in the comedy film “Honest Candidate.”
Other nominees for best actor were Lee Byung-hun for “The Man Standing Next,” “Jung Woo-sung for “Steel Rain 2: Summit,” Hwang Jung-min for “Deliver Us from Evil,” Lee Jung-jae for “Deliver Us from Evil.”
Ra Mi-ran, also known for starring in the hit drama “Reply 1988,” beat Kim Hee-ae of “Moonlit Winter,” Jeon Do-yeon of “Beasts Clawing at Straws,” Jung Yu-mi of “Kim Ji-young: Born 1982” and Shin Min-a of “Diva.”
Park Jung-min won best supporting actor for “Deliver Us from Evil” while Esom grabbed the best supporting award for “Samjin Company English Class.”
The 41st Blue Dragon Film Awards was organized by Korean media outlet Sports Chosun.
