In a Facebook post, ADSP said the poster "stigmatizes and stereotypes persons with mental health struggles."

"Paano ang mental health community? Stigmatized na nga kami, diba. Medyo hindi maganda ang dating ng poster na ito. Hindi lang sa pagsstereotyping, sa ikinabit na expression sa salitang tililing kundi sa salitang tililing mismo (What about the mental health community? We're already stigmatized. The poster sends a negative message. Not only it stereotypes, but it associates the word crazy with people with mental health issues)," ADSP wrote.

"Even us patients and the professionals don't use this world. Even the government is careful in addressing people with mental health struggles. Wag natin pausuhin (Please don't make it a trend)," the group appealed.

On Monday, actress Liza Soberano likewise decried the poster, pointing out that it made a joke out of mental health.

"Really hoping that this movie will spread awareness and enlighten us on the struggles of dealing with mental health. But the poster? It's a no for me. Mental health is NOT a joke. Stop the stigma," Soberano tweeted.

Meanwhile, director Darryl Yap defended his upcoming film.

"The script, the whole story was written a decade ago, and it is with pride and bravery to claim that -- you haven't seen anything like this before."
