The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) warned its members, pensioners, and claimants against phishing attempts.
In a statement, GSIS cautioned its clients against phishing attempts that appear to have been sent by personnel pretending to be connected with the agency.
Phishing, which may come in the form of texts, e-mails, or messages forwarded through social media platforms, is a scam aiming to trick recipients into disclosing sensitive personal data and confidential GSIS information, the state-owned corporation warned.
"Please be reminded that GSIS will never ask for your personal information unless it allows us to properly respond to your inquiries or quickly process your applications or transactions," GSIS said.
"All transacting clients, as well as the general public, are thus advised to remain on alert for smishing (text scams) and fraudulent online activities," it added.
GSIS also asked its clients to immediately report suspicious messages to their servicing GSIS office.
