In a statement on Feb. 9, the mayor announced that she is currently in isolation after testing positive for the disease.

(I would like to inform everyone today that I experienced symptoms of COVID-19 which led me to undergo a PCR Test or swab test right away. The result turned out to be positive.),” Rubiano said.

The Pasay City mayor said contact tracing is being conducted to inform her recent contacts and to identify where and from whom she got the disease.

Rubiano assured Pasay residents that she will continue to fulfill her duties as mayor despite her condition.

I have ordered all departments to continue assisting our residents with their needs. I also gave a directive to our local officials to continue with the city's programs and projects amid my current condition),” she added.

Rubiano reminded Pasay residents to be cautious as anyone can be infected by COVID-19.

We really need vaccination and prayers to help overcome this disease),” she said.
