Team Lakay’s Jeremy Pacatiw, who last fought in Bahrain-based promotion BRAVE Combat Federation, expressed desire to jump ship in ONE Championship.

According to an article in Team Lakay’s website, there were hints that Pacatiw had parted ways with BRAVE CF, where he represented the Philippines for the past four years.

“I know the best is yet to come in my life particularly in my chosen career. If God permits, I dream to join and be a part of ONE Championship family,” said the 24-year-old Pacatiw.

“[I] really [want] to join my brothers there even if I’ll start from baby steps at [b]antamweight division.”

Team Lakay coach Mark Sangiao confirmed to the Manila Bulletin, Monday, Feb.8, that Pacatiw’s contract with BRAVE CF ended last October.

“Jeremy’s contract with BRAVE [CF] ended last October. Dealing now with some promotions,” Sangiao said in a text message.

BRAVE CF paved the way for Pacatiw’s success in mixed martial arts, racking up a 6-4 record in the promotion with notable wins against former bantamweight contender Felipe Efrain and Keith Lee, brother of UFC lightweight contender Kevin Lee.

The Igorot warrior said BRAVE CF also gave him the much-needed self-confidence and positive attitude inside and outside of the cage since turning professional in 2016.

“I feel sad because Brave CF was the first international fighting stage where I showcased my skills for the past four years,” said Team Lakay’s bantamweight bet, who holds an overall 10-4 record.

“It gave me the ticket to travel around the world from Asia to the Middle East to Africa, but on the other hand, I’m grateful because I know and believe that some doors close for another much greater opportunities to open.”

The Team Lakay stalwart has won four of his last five fights, with the most recent against Efrain by way of technical knockout in the first round of BRAVE CF 33 in December 2019.
