Bren Esports came through with a flawless run to rule the first Philippine Challengers of the Valorant Champions Tour, capping it off with a 3-0 demolition of Empire Esports in the grand finals on Sunday night.
Bren drew first blood in the championship series with a 13-9 win in Ascent, before taking the next maps Haven and Bind with identical 13-8 victories for the first of the three Challengers titles.
The black and yellow squad bagged the P20,000 winner's prize along with a direct seeding to the Challengers 2 where the champion gets a spot in the Southeast Asia Masters.
Bren is composed of former Dota 2 pro Jessie "JessieVash" Cuyco, ex-CSGO standouts Jayvee "DubsteP" Paguirigan, Jim "BORKUM" Timbreza and Kevin "Dispenser" Te, and former Overwatch player Whome.
The local Valorant powerhouse kicked off its campaign in the eight-team tournament by smothering SE Atlas, 2-0, then decimated Dream Fyre, 2-0, in the semifinals.
Empire nabbed the P10,000 runner-up prize while Dream Fyre and Chimaera took P2,500 each for finishing in the 3rd-4th place.
The three also got seeded to the next Challengers, which will be held on February 19-21.
The open qualifiers for the second Challengers is slated on February 13 to 14.
