6 new COVID-19 cases reported among Filipinos abroad


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday reported 6 new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases among Filipinos abroad.

No new recovery and no new fatality were recorded in the latest report from the country’s foreign service posts worldwide. 

Since the COVID-19 outbreak began in February last year, a total of 14,395 overseas Filipinos have been infected with the disease. Out of this number, 9,052 have recovered, 4,389 are undergoing treatment, and 954 have died.   

To date, the total number of countries and territories with confirmed cases among Filipinos is now at 86, following a report received yesterday from a country in the Americas.

The DFA said its personnel in the different consulates and embassies abroad remain committed to attending to the needs of our people, whenever possible.
