Thirdy Ravena continues to embrace Japanese culture while recovering from his injury in the Land of the Rising Sun.
In a social post Tuesday, Ravena shared his first-time experience of celebrating the traditional Setsubun festival.
During Setsubun, several rituals were performed to drive away evil spirits, locally known as "oni," to kick off the spring with good fortune.
"Happy Setsubun!" wrote Ravena, posting a photo of his phone with a compass application on and an Eho-maki suhi roll on Instagram Story.
"It means the day before the start of Spring season in the Old Japanese Calendar. Traditionally, people eat Sushi Burrito while facing a certain direction, throw beans inside and outside the house, and also eat the same number of beans as your age," the San-En Neophoenix import explained.
The 24-year-old Ravena, meanwhile, continues to sit out of games while nursing a fractured right index finger.
The Neophoenix are in a three-game skid sans the former Ateneo standout, dropping to a 7-25 record after losing to the Ryukyu Golden Kings last Sunday.
