The eastern portion of the country will have cloudy skies with rains this weekend as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is expected to persist over the next few days, the state weather bureau said Saturday.
“The eastern side of the country will have cloudy skies with rains,” said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin.
“But the western side, including Metro Manila, may possibly experience good weather, slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains,” Bulquerin added.
PAGASA said the amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.
Residents were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate with at times heavy rains.
Cloudy skies with light rains are also expected in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora and Quezon this weekend.
On the other hand, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to amihan.
Meanwhile, gale warning has been raised over the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, as well as in the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to rough sea conditions.
Fishing boats and other small sea craft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
PAGASA said no weather disturbance is expected to enter the country within the next three days.
