The popular romance-fantasy South Korean series “Hotel Del Luna,” is set for a musical adaptation.
The Korean entertainment website Soompi announced on Wednesday that the series will be remade as a stage musical in 2022.
The production company Showplay, which produced musicals, TV shows, and concerts, is in charge of the production, the Soompi reported.
“The musical remake is garnering attention for how it will reproduce the drama’s fantastical elements and the relationship between the two main characters,” it added.
“Hotel Del Luna,” follows the story of Jang Man Wol (IU), the owner of a mysterious hotel which serves the spirits. She was cursed to live forever as a consequence to a crime she did years ago.
However, things took an interesting turn when Chan Sung (Yeo Jin Goo) was hired to be the hotel manager. He was forced to manage the hotel because of a deal his father made with Man Wol years ago.
The Korean drama’s soundtrack featured artists like 10cm, Gummy, Taeyeon, Chungha, and Red Velvet among others.
“Hotel Del Luna” premiered on Netflix last 2019.
