Davao City reports 102 new COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths


 
DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development reported 202 new cases of COVID-19 in the region with more than half of the cases coming from Davao City.

"Of these new cases, 102 are from Davao City, 34 are from Davao del Norte, 26 are from Davao de Oro, 17 are from Davao Oriental, 13 are from Davao del Sur, and 10 are from Davao Occidental," the DOH said Wednesday, Jan. 27.
 
Based on the Regional Daily Case Bulletin No. 319 of the DOH, the region has recorded a total of 16,665 COVID-19 cases, with 2,670 active cases.
 
Davao City, meanwhile, has recorded a total of 11,266 cases with 1,507 total active cases.
 
As of January 26, the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) has recorded 36 new positive cases bringing the total number of active cases to 239.
 
The SPMC COVID-19 Daily Statistics and Graphs also showed that the intensive care unit (ICU) beds allotted for patients with COVID-19 was 100% utilized as of 12 noon Tuesday, while their ward beds for COVID-19 patients was 92.98% utilized. 
 
The state hospital has allocated a total of 30 ICU beds and 342 ward beds for COVID-19 cases. 
 
The DOH also recorded 12 deaths on Wednesday, including 11 fatalities from Davao City and one from Davao del Norte.
 
Davao City has recorded a total of 533 deaths due to COVID-19, while Davao region has recorded a total of 675 deaths.
 
There were also 166 recoveries reported yesterday.
 
"Among these, 68 are from Davao del Norte, 64 are from Davao City, 14 are from Davao del Sur, 12 are from Davao Oriental, and eight are from Davao de Oro," the DOH said.
 
The region has recorded a total of 13,320 recoveries. The DOH data showed that 9,226 of the recoveries are from Davao City.
