Zamboanga City police seize P1.8-million shabu from 3 drug suspects


ZAMBOANGA CITY – Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) arrested three alleged drug personalities and seized from them  about P1.8-million worth of  shabu in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Talon-Talon here on Sunday, January 24.

Zamboanga Peninsula Police (PRO-9)  Director  Brig.  Gen. Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan said on Tuesday, January 26, the buy-bust operation was led by P/Maj. Jamar G Tagayan after they received information that the sale of shabu in Sitio Logoy Grande, Barangay Talon-Talon was rampant.

Ylagan identified the three alleged drug dealers as Benhar Hamidol, 27: Basar Sampang, 55; and Marvin Ramirez Y De Guzman, 35. They were all from Barangay Mampang in this city.

Confiscated from the suspects were three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets  weighing more or less 264.7 grams with an estimated street value of P1.8 million.

The police also seized from them a P1000-bill, which served as marked money with 99 other pieces of P1000-bills as boodle money.

The suspects were brought to the detention cell of ZCPO, and  will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The recovered items were brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory  Office in this city for examination.
