Montalban residents urged to open homes to PhilSys enumerators

Residents of Montalban, Rizal are encouraged to welcome the enumerator of the National Statistics Office into their home as the roll-out for the pre-registration of the national identification system will soon begin in the municipality.

The Philippine Statistics Office (PSO) has formally  signified its intention to do house-to-house visitation following an agreement with the municipal government authorities.

In a Facebook post of Rodriguez Mayor Dennis ‘Tom’ Hernandez, he said representatives of the PSO will be visiting houses in Rodriguez to collect data from every resident for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

The residents are encouraged to present any primary ID such as driver’s license, National Professional ID; Postal ID; UMID; Philippine Passport; Social Security System ID; or Voter’s (Comelec) ID or a Secondary ID such as NBI Clearance; Barangay Clearance; or Police Clearance; or Birth Certificate to the PSO enumerators to conduct the step 1 of the 3-step procedure by collecting basic data such as name, permanent address, date and place of birth, and blood type of the target registrant.

The PSO staff who will do the house-to-house, should carry a PSO ID and should be in uniform. They will strictly observe the minimum health protocols and should be wearing face masks and face shields. They have also been reminded to always observe physical distancing during their interaction with the residents who are likewise encouraged to do the same as the town is still under the Modified General Community Quarantine c(MGCQ) classification.

Aside from Montalban, the pre-registration process, or Step 1 of the Philippine Identification System, is also happening in other parts of the province.
