COVID-stricken Tuguegarao mayor to continue working while in isolation


TUGUEGARAO CITY – Mayor Jefferson Soriano immediately proceeded to an isolation facility after learning he was positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday night.

He posted on his Facebook page that he was asymptomatic, and will undergo 14 days of quarantine.

And despite being positive for COVID-19, he assured his constituents that he will continue to work, and monitor events in the city.

“Huwag po kayong mag-alala, mananatili po akong aktibo sa aking sinumpaang tungkulin habang hinaharap ang pagsubok na ito (Don’t worry, I will remain active and will fulfill my mandate while I go through this trial),” Soriano said.

 Soriano‘s wife and members of his family are still awaiting the results of their swab tests, and were already isolated.

He also called on those he had close contact with to go on quarantine, and have themselves tested and treated should they start to experience symptoms of the disease.

 “Sa lahat ng aking nakasalamuha ng nakaraang mga araw please quarantine na po at obserbahan ang inyong sarili for symptoms. Ako po ay humihingi ng dispensa sa inyong lahat at pinagdadasal ang inyong kalusugan. Maari niyo pong kontakin ang mga numero na ito 0917-578-1029 at 0916-619-5320.” he said.

He noted that the best thing to do for Tuguegaraoeños is to continue to stay home.
